Teaching is a service and music is the place where peace, joy, and love lives.

In 2000 I copyrighted a method Cycling On The Guitar this is a method to practice scales in octave note groups. It is a visual version of this concept in major, minor, altered, diminished, and blues. In most cases, this can give a very good sense of learning the fretboard to play along with chord changes. The ll, V, l progression is also represented.

Also available is Arp Cycling On The Guitar which is done the same way with Arpeggios. No reading music is necessary however it may help you to learn to read later. If you can read it may help with improvisation.

My much simple finger-picking book Basic-finger-picking is excellent for starting out as it is easy to use, visual pictures of chords and in the right-hand technique.
